3D Printed battery adapter set 18650 to 3C and 3C to 3D,

Description

This listing consists of a set of two 3D printed adapters, complete with hardware which together convert most common 3 D cell flashlights to run on a protected 18650 cell or 3 C cells. Flashlights, batteries, flashlights and any other items shown in photos are not included.
The blue adapter pictured converts your 3 D cell light to run on 3 C cells, adding another “fuel” to run on and allowing the red 18650 to 3 C cell adapter to be used to run protected 18650 cells (this adapter can also be used by itself in 3 C cell lights).
Using these two adapters together, eliminates the need to alter your D cell flashlight's tail spring to make contact with the smaller diameter 18650 cell.
The 18650 to 3 C cell adapter is sized for protected 18650 cells that are typically
about 69-71 mm long with a button top or positive terminal raised by 1 mm or more. Slightly shorter unprotected 18650 cells will work in most lights as long as they have button top or positive terminal that protrudes at least 1 mm from the front rim of the cell,
though quality name brand protected cells are strongly recommended as they provide important safety features that help prevent potentially dangerous over discharge and short circuits.
The 18650 to 3 C adapter has built in reverse polarity protection that is intended to help protect your light if a cell is inadvertently inserted backwards. A button top or raised positive cell contact is required to make proper contact. [To see if the reverse polarity protection feature works with your cells, test with a multi meter outside of your light – never intentionally insert a cell in your device with polarity reversed, as the reverse polarity protection may not work with some cells in some lights].
These adapters are intended for use in unmodified, current regulated consumer flashlights and should not be used for vaping, charging or for any high current application.
Quality name brand protected 18650 cells should be used to help prevent potentially dangerous over discharge of the cell.  When the light begins to dim, turn it off and charge the cell as soon as possible.
Do not use damaged, over charged, over discharged, counterfeit or old laptop cells!
Before use, ensure that the Voltage of your cell or cells do not exceed the operating Voltage of your device!
These adapters are 3D printed from PETG filament which is tougher, withstands higher temperatures (up to 160F) and resists most solvents better than the more common PLA filament. The positive contact hardware (18650 to 3 C cell adapter) is solid brass. The negative contact (3 C to 3 D cell adapter) is solid brass and stainless steel. The rear of the 18650 cell extends from the adapter by design to allow easy removal, to better radiate heat and to allow for the widest possible variation in cell length without interfering with the connection of the cell's negative terminal with the tail spring. Cutouts on the adapters sides allow the cell(s) to be easily observed for proper position when inserting and the various flutes and scallops are intended to minimize weight.  Note that there will be minor cosmetic imperfections incidental to the 3D printing process – these are not defects and do not impair the function of the adapter. Color shades, markings and appearance may vary from photos. As these are 3D printed items, they ship without retail packaging.
