The single magnet on this model is slightly thicker than the 18 gauge brass that it is set into. So if you are one of those guys that like picks with bumps, here you go!
I hand make each one of these. They play fantastic. The magnets are so you can stick one on your mic stand.
Sparks' Premium Magnetic Brass Picks came about like this. I am a guitarist. I play everyday. I sing. I have used Fender Mediums for fifty years. I never saw a brass pick in a store, but then again, I never looked for one. I, like most guitarists have used a dime or metal slug just messing around, usually for less then a minute as the resulting sounds weren't very pretty. As a hobby, I make knives. I had some brass around for inlays of initials etc., just a little thicker than the Fender mediums, so I decided to make one to the exact shape I was used to, and sanded and polished the edges like on a regular pick, and when I was done, I loved it. After looking on eBay, I see other brass picks. When I play and sing at a gig, I occasionally drop my pick. I have seen devices that attach to straps, devices to clip on mic stands and devices to attach to your guitar to hold picks for just such a reason... to have a pick ready to go when you drop the one you are using. These gently cling to your mic stand all by themselves! So you can have it right in front of you at all times. I have been using these picks exclusively, ever since.
